I wanted to be a fighter when I was 17. Then I kick-boxed a man with neck tattoos and got beaten in the legs and ribs and liver and head — so I went to college and became a journalist instead. During this time, I got into lifting (lucky for me, weights don’t punch back). After college, I blended my communications degree with my newfound passion for weight-lifting by landing a job at Muscle & Fitness. There, I mastered the spray tan, became too comfortable around people wearing too little clothing, and learned every synonym for “lean.” (“Diced,” “shredded,” “ripped,” “peeled,” “cut,” and “whittled,” because you were wondering.)
Currently, I’m a freelance writer, editor, and NASM-certified personal trainer with over 10 years of experience writing and editing strength and performance content for brands, including Men’s Health, Gear Patrol, Business Insider, and Peloton. My work focuses on practical strength training, nutrition, and helping real people build strong, durable bodies for life—without the noise or shortcuts.
